This allows for online communication between healthcare providers and clients via a HIPAA-compliant, secure platform. These sessions are often video-based. Telehealth has become increasingly common in recent years. Moreover, the shutdown of many clinics and practices across the world due to COVID-19 has pushed many providers to utilize telehealth as a way to mitigate serious disruptions in services.


Who Uses Telehealth?

Telehealth has become increasingly common among healthcare facilities, such as hospitals, urgent care settings, and doctor’s offices. In addition, mental health professionals also utilize telehealth services in order to provide sessions when in-person sessions are not possible. Many other providers, such as registered dietitians, also utilize telehealth.


What is Insurance Coverage Like for Telehealth?

More frequently, insurance companies are seeing the benefit of telehealth services and are increasing coverage. However, coverage does depend on your specific insurance plan. With that, it is necessary to confirm coverage with your specific plan if you need services to be covered or reimbursed by insurance.


Does Hudson Therapy Utilize Telehealth?

Yes! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hudson Therapy clinicians have temporarily suspended all in-person sessions in order to promote the health and safety of the practice. However, all of our clinicians are now offering telehealth sessions in order to prevent any significant lapse in sessions.


For Clients...

For our existing clients looking to utilize telehealth, you will first need to complete a consent form indicating that you agree to the use of telehealth. Your clinician will send this through our portal, so keep an eye out for an email to complete this form. Once you do this, you are all set! Around ten minutes prior to your session, you will receive an email from our portal with the link to join the telehealth session. Just click the link at the start of your session and you will be joined in.


Is Telehealth Secure?

Confidentiality is one of our main priorities. At Hudson Therapy, our telehealth system works through our secure client portal. Using this, you can feel comfortable that your session is completely HIPAA-compliant, secure, and confidential.
