5 Tips for Fitting Exercise Into a Busy Schedule

5 Tips for Fitting Exercise Into a Busy Schedule

You have your new sneakers, your workout outfit, the perfect water bottle to take with you. The one thing you don’t have--time.

Yes, you know that exercise is beneficial and yes, you want to start. But this is a lot easier said than done when you have to juggle work, school, kids, and whatever other priorities you may have on your plate. Keep reading to learn five tips and tricks for finding ways to fit exercise into your already jam-packed schedule.

1. Set a routine

Things are a lot easier to complete when we make it a habit. Take out your schedule and see where you have a free moment. Block off that chunk of time for exercise and make it as much of a priority as would would work or an appointment.

2. Find a workout buddy

Finding it hard to keep yourself motivated? Look around and see who else you can involve to exercise with! This will keep the exercise more lively and create a sense of accountability for showing up and completing workouts.

3. Sign up for exercise classes

Tried out one or two exercises and you’re not into it? Try out a variety of exercise classes and styles. Some people love aerobic activities while others are weight lifting enthusiasts. Find what works best for you and what you feel you can stick with in the long run.

4. Try to find a coach or personal trainer

Getting started with exercising for the first time can feel a bit overwhelming--between the new environment, new people, and the foreign machines and exercises. If you are feeling this way, take some time to look into getting a personal trainer or coach to provide you with a structured workout regimen and some guidelines on proper warm-up, form, etc. Please just do your research and ensure that you are picking a certified personal trainer if you do choose to pursue this path.

5. Check out some at-home exercises

Can’t leave home but still want to work out? Look into some exercises that you can do without ever leaving your house. These exercises are a great way to be able to get moving, even with the busiest of schedules.

These are just some ways to incorporate exercise into your schedule. Try these out and figure out what works best for you right now. As you fall into a more regular pattern of exercising, it will eventually become an integral part of your schedule. It may take some time to find what works bst, but keep trying out new things and eventually you will discover what works best for you!
